Jody is uniquely suited to and qualified for the difficult work she does. I have never known a more empathetic and caring person. She has an ability to give comfort to people in very stressful situations. I cannot imagine her reacting in the way described by the new Manager. Hopefully his decision can be reviewed and overturned by someone who has a better feel for people.

Jody grew up in Davis and went to school with all of our kids. I had not seen her for many years until she walked in to care for my dad. My dad had colon cancer and a great deal of pain. He was a very private, suspicious man. Jody came in and by the end of her first visit won his trust. He would not take anything unless approved by Jody. He had been in bed for many weeks but once he felt better he was able to get out to his back yard. She was gentle but honest always advising us on what toe expect. She told us when it was time to get family here and stayed with us while we huddled around our dad comforting us as we comforted my dad. His death was so peaceful and we were all there. It was such a special time for our family I will never forget. Jody is our angel and she is Davis' angel . I have friends who have called her who went to school with her and she has come to the rescue many times whether on hospice or not. I heard about her firing while i was shopping. Do you know who you fired? Do you know what you have lost? Gives me a entirely different view of who Yolo Hospice is. Disheartened and angry

WTH! Jody Norton is an amazing nurse and a gift from Yolo Hospice. When my dad was dying she made sure we were treated with the most amazing care! Thank you Jody....How can this happen to such an amazing person?

I and my family have been in this area for 75 years and Jody was our nurse and cared both for my mother and then years later my sister! In our eyes she became a trusted and beloved family member. She was able to get my mom out of pain within a day after she had sucf

I am a long time employee of Yolo Hospice, and have been a nurse for> 25 years. This type of nursing requires a very specialized form of nursing. It is a mix between expert symptom management, and extraordinary empathy and education. Craig just fired the one person who had both of those gifts. I have never been afraid to sign my name to anything at Yolo Hospice but after what happened to Jody it could happen to any one of us. Jody was happy to share her write up from Craig, which said she was a bully, that she yelled, slammed doors and swore" I have worked with her for over 10 years I have never ever seen that behavior. How can it be that we would treat a person within our agency like this. We are all terrified of this new so called leader. He just changed the nature of this agency in 5 minutes. I dare all of you who were a part of this decision to think what this must have felt like. You walk into room and within 5 minutes your career of 19 years of work and passion is gone. We do not treat our worst enemies like this. I have no respect for our leadership team, and hope we can correct this horrible decision.

If this is the new standard for taking care of our employees, I do not want to work there anymore. I am sick by this and actively looking for a new job. Jody has never ever treated anyone with such disrespect and dis regard for Yolo Hospice. Note the day the Yolo Hospice of past is now forever changed.

Jody is Yolo hospice and Yolo hospice is Jody. She is the heart and the soul of YH. She is the most knowledgeable nurse in the organization. Her expertise, integrity, compassion, honesty, dedication, principles, ethics, morals, righteousness, decency fairness, loving and giving what made YH a perfect place to work and a great organization. It was what drew many of us to work in the organization and what made us feel a family, with a sense of caring and joint responsibility. YH without Jody is not the YH many of us have known.

Jody Norton is a human being just like the rest of us, with strengths and weaknesses. That being said, Jody has some of the most incredible strengths and has given every one of them to Yolo Hospice, the staff and patients and families for 19 years. 19 years. Her expertise, compassion, and heart has touched every one of us. Jody has always been a touchstone and guiding presence for those of us who work at Yolo Hospice. Jody is missed terribly and there must be some kind of compromise to be reached that would allow Jody to return to Yolo Hospice, an entity she has helped shape and keep afloat.

On my first day as RN at Yolo Hospice I was sitting in "report" hearing the staff as the talk about their pts, watching the staff interacting with each other I felt like this was the best job I ever had and I was making less money. The staff voices was heard, Jody all was the heart of Yolo Hospice. She made it more than just a job. Now that is all gone and now I find myself being bullied because I do not want to talk to the CEO

Jody has always been extremely passionate about Yolo Hospice since she first started there 19 years ago. She has put her heart and soul into making Yolo Hospice an exemplary organization. She has shown nothing but complete dedication to her job for the 19 years she has worked at Yolo Hospice.

Jody is an amazing human being, she has given so much to every person she has come across. My heart breaks thinking that YH and this community may never get to feel this womans amazing warmth and calm loving support again. She is a true giver! Seldom am i left speachless but this action has left me with no words. How after 19 years of service could she just be let go? YH is not that type of agnecy! We must ask ourseleves what direction is YH going? Losing Jody is like losing a huge piece of what YH was buit on. I urge the powers that be to listen to their community, the many families and both the paid employees as well as the volunteers of YH. Jody deserves better after 19 years and YH deserves to have her back where she can continue giving and serving this communiyt that she loves so very much.
