Willful blindness rules the day. I don't think the Board understands that this is not 'just' a personnel issue. It is an existential crisis. The Yolo Hospice that we all know and love is being destroyed. It is happening on their watch, and they don't seem to know or care.

Tonight I attended a Yolo hospice board meeting and was shocked by the work that was put in to keeping us all quiet. President and executive director said multiple times that they would not answer questions or discuss appeal process for returning Jody norton to her job. Sadder to me was the silence of her peer leaders who sat quietly not one backed her up. You all know she would have supported you spoke up for you had your backs. How do you sleep tonight. I can not! This is not Yolo hospice. Changed in such a few days! I hope you remember who you had stand behind you. Shame on you!

My experience working with Jody for 10 years as a nurse at Yolo Hospice was extremely positive. She was always a bright spot in the day, so competent, caring, compassionate and forever advocating for patients, fellow staff and Yolo Hospice. Love you, Jody!

Yolo Hospice is an organization which excels in comfort care at end of life. They support their staff as well as their patients. Jody Norton was an integral part of the supportive caring atmosphere at Yolo Hospice and an excellent Director of Patient Care Services. Changes in organizations are inevitable, I just wish it could have included the wisdom and expertise of Jody Norton.

Ever since I received the first 'business letter' from Craig during my past ten years with YH as a volunteer, I knew some changes are going to happen. However, I never expected the change would be the woman who walked him in during the monthly meeting when he was just on board!! I still remember how Jody was excited introducing him at that time...

After Craig sent out the 'business letter' to everyone including volunteers, I knew the direction of YH will change. But I never expected the first change would be the woman who walked him in and introduced him excitedly to everyone during the monthly support meeting. Sad and my passions for YH is gone...

Jody Norton has the ability to see others strengths; while I worked at YH, she had the loudest voice in fostering a workplace that held others to that incredibly positive standard. She is instrumental in creating an environment in which an entire staff feels compelled and safe to go out into a community and do their best work. Jody recognizes the toll that the giving profession can take and expertly creates an environment where it is possible to be a strong, balanced professional who can do the work of hospice with longevity. She holds the agency to the standard of putting the patient first. I support a review for Jody, the staff, the community it serves and for other agencies for who YH sets an exemplary example. It is time that WE see Jody,s strengths.
