I would like to express my full support for the principles and intent of Te Tiriti o Waitangi as the foundational document of Aotearoa New Zealand. Upholding Te Tiriti is essential to ensuring equitable, inclusive, and culturally responsive practices within our school community.
I acknowledge the significance of partnership, participation, and protection as outlined in Te Tiriti, and I believe that the actions proposed in this petition align with these principles. These principles aim to eliminate disparities and racism, foster a sense of belonging and cultural affirmation for Māori learners as tangata whenua and enrich the educational experience for ALL ākonga by acknowledging the unique identity and heritage of Aotearoa.
