Preserve history! Find other things to cut! If it weren't for your ancestors, you wouldn't be here today! History is important and it needs to be taught. Historically preserved homes and museums are a great way for the next generation to learn about the past. History is being cut from schools and now you want to cut funding for more historic properties? So much can be learned from the past. Why not take time out of your busy political lives and go see what you can learn from history for yourselves? See what resources fall under because of your ignorance and disinterest to learn about the past and from the past. Don't let Ohioans down.

suspension of the Ohio Historic Preservation Tax Credit would devastate Ohio revitalization efforts and historic preservation. We stand to lose a lot of significant cultural and architectural heritage.

Time is of the essence. Historic sites can only be saved if citizens and government work together. This is a breach of trust.

This program actually works! Produces jobs, reuses and preserves old buildings that are frequently in core city areas.

We must continue with the preservation tax credit. Many historic buildings will be lost without this financial aid.

Dear Ohio,
Please know--if you have to discount non-economic factors like attachment to space (which alone might help preserve Columbus if Chase ever went under because Jamie Dimon, say, went to jail for further illegal conduct) and the reliable preference for character over cutting-edge--that preservation is an investment and one that reaches farther forward than your buildings do back.

I am aware of several projects that have closed on financing based on state commitments for state historic credits and have begun construction. This proposed moritorium will have devastating effects on these projects. Strike this amendment from the budget immediately.

Historic tax credits are an economic development tool which should be continued. Historic buildings enhance communities and provide jobs both during and after the restoration process. Please continue this valuable program!
