Please don't do this. Historic preservation matters. There's much to do. The 1891 Sorg Opera House in Middletown depends on you.

This is a no brainer. What is there to reassess? If anything, the Ohio Historic Preservation Tax Credit should be expanded. The positive impact on Cleveland has been tremendous.

The credit makes money for the state, helps broaden the tax base, spurs development of surrounding properties and is the deciding factor in the renovation of many large scale older buildings in major cities as well as smaller projects in small Ohio cities. The credit should be maintained.

As a member of both the Ohio History Center and the Columbus Landmarks Foundation I find it appalling that the legislature may suspend this tax credit. There are so few "old" sites remaining in Ohio compared to other states and countries I have traveled through, that I fear if this remains in the budget, Ohio will end up on the bottom of yet another list of worst states in the country. We can and should be better than that. Restore the Historic Preservation Tax Credit.

The historic tax credit program has been an extremely successful program of saving our history, creating jobs and revitalizing neighborhoods/business district. Why would we even considering doing away with one of the few things government gets right??

The purpose of the historic tax credit is to encourage preservation of historically important buildings. This work generates jobs for those who specialize in this work. Without this credit, those jobs will go unfilled and the buildings will continue to deteriorate.

Reusing old buildings saves money AND energy AND construction waste. Who in their right mind would be against this?
