these tax credits pay for themselves 30 times over: we should be EXPANDING them. Not cutting them. What an insult.

These funds are critical in salvaging Ohio History. The properties/buildings these funds restore are done at a fraction of the cost it would take to build them today. Lost architecture can never be recovered. Once gone, gone forever! Much more cost effective and appropriate than new construction, and these historic properties will outlast new construction 10 fold! Salvaging historically significant sites leverage private development on surrounding properties and it stimulates economic development exponentially. It simply makes more sense all the way around.

The tax credits have helped revitalize Over the Rhine in Cincinnati. We need to keep these!

Once an historic property is gone, there is no replacing it. Cincinnati has already suffered some significant losses of buildings representing Cincinnati history, and the craftsman tradition that is part of that history. Let's not compound those losses by suspending the Ohio Historic Preservation Tax Credit.

When history is unable to be preserved, heritage is destroyed. As a property attorney and business advocate, this program represents an essential component of restoring vitality to Ohio's property values and demonstrating that Ohio is open for business, both factors being the foundation of a strong economy.

Historic Preservation Tax credits have saved over 100 blighted buildings since the program started in 2007 - this program has transformed communities - making them safer for our tax-paying residents and more attractive to investors. This program is good for business and good for Ohio residents!

I oppose the suspension of the Ohio Historic Tax Credit Program. By suspending this program it would be devastating to historic districts in Ohio!

Historic tax credits are a major component of re-development in the state, particularly in urban communities and need to be retained to encourage economic development.

This program needs to continue to be funded as it provides the necessary leverage for investment into these projects. The amount of private investment made possible by this program is phenomenal!

These tax credits have had a transformative, game changing effect on projects throughout my my neighborhood, our region and our state. I strongly urge you not to derail the preservation train. The lasting impact of such a move would be far reaching and irreparable.
