I oppose the suspension of the Ohio Historical Tax Credit program. Why are you suspending it for two years when it will put some neighborhood redevelopment plans in limbo.

Historic preservation tax credits are perhaps the most effective and impactful program the state has ever implemented to promote urban redevelopment.

As the Business Association Chair for East Walnut Hills in Cincinnati, I strongly oppose suspending the historic preservation tax credit. We are a community with three historic districts, which we are currently working to redevelop. This would have devastating results to our efforts.

The suspension of tax credits for two years will negatively impact the revitalization of cities in Ohio. Not only will this hinder the restoration of some marvelous landmarks across the state, it will also effect Ohio's economy as jobs will surely be lost--from construction to entertainment. I hope this petition forces reconsideration of this portion of HB 64.

The Historic Preservation Tax Credit is critical to restoring old Ohio cities such as Cincinnati, Cleveland, and my city of Youngstown. It incentivizes the restoration of history rather than encouraging new building in the suburbs.

I oppose suspending the Ohio Historic Preservation Tax Credit. This tax credit is critical to revitalization plans for our cities and communities in Ohio. It not only helps to preserve and rehabilitate important pieces of Ohio's history, but also leverages funding from private companies and federal tax credits to make these projects possible.

Let's not allow our history to die. If yo go just about anywhere in Europe, you will see history that is much older than ours, and it is revered.. Let's be that way please.

Don't kill the program! It's one of the best, most cost effective economic incentives that Ohio has.

Cleveland would not have its current resurgence without the availability of the historic preservation credit. The credit has earned ongoing support!

Historically urban areas disproportionately carried the burden for development of this state, including tax subsidies for farmers, tax expenditures for rural infrastructure, and tax credits for every manner of development outside the older, more established cities. Now you are trying to throw those areas onto the ash heap, all the while subsidizing areas that fit more closely to your political base.It is patently unjust to stop these tax credits when they do so much good.

As a graduate from Youngstown State University. I have seen first hand, what revitalization of an area that was pretty much abandoned before, can do. This credit gives the new business owners a better oppurtunity to better an area.
