Support Our Bills for a study on NYers' rights to free admission to city institutions

You highlight the need for the work of the ...study... bills. For more than 150 years, none of city, state, or institutions has undertaken to codify the laws of the mid-1800's public-private partnership even as New York City leaders subsuidize these institutions with more than $1 Billion annually and still require New Yorkers to pay an admission fee.

I’m totally for this and have in the past applied this stance , often to a unknowing younger person, who would deny entry. Sign me up

Laws from a mid-19th century oublic-private partnership provide the provisions of free admission for New Yorkers because it is New Yorkers alone who bare the brunt of tax dollars funding these institutions operations and loss of rental revenue ... the total of which is more than $1 Billion annually.

The economic benefit underwriting New Yorkers' free rights are in these institutions having free rent in fity-owned buikdings on public park land. Today that economic benefit is more than $1 Billion annually yet New Yorkers are required to pay an admission fee. For 150 years, no City administration or trustees of these institutions codified the laws and published New Yorkers' rights. The bills call for a study to do the work to finally call for accountability. It is time!

There are kaws spelling out New Yorkers' free rights that in effect have been ignored to the benefit of the institutions who are subsidized with mire than $1 Billion annually while New Yorkers are required to pay an admission fee. We need these bills codified, published and enforced and the passage of this joint bill will do that.

If the bills pass, the facts of New Yorkers free access will be organized, published and enforced.
