Support Our Bills for a study on NYers' rights to free admission to city institutions

For 150 years, New Yorkers have not been properly informed of our rights to free access and instruction to the 17 park institutions. The study bills will reduce the terms of our rights to writing with a call for a written report within one year of passage.

New Yorkers $1 Billion annual subsidy to these institutions is the price we pay for the right to free avcess but the institutions deny New Yorkers our legislayed right while accepting our dollars.

According to the laws of a mid-1800's public-private partnership now costing New Yorkers $1 Billion in annual subsidies...which the institutions avcept while denying New Yorkers our reciprocal free admission.

Yes. Prior to The Met instituting its suggested fee policy, a visitor paid two days in a week, per the provisions of 1893 law. And yes, it ia typical for a visitor who cannot pay the recommended amount to feel...embarrassed...or not even attempt to visit to avoid embarrassment. That's why the study called for in the bills is needed...to codify, publish and endorce the laws providing New Yorkers free access.
