Support for the development of Holmes Mill Clitheroe

As a Clitheroe resident I cannot understand how the council planning committee can possibly oppose this excellent development. The present mill site is an eyesore and without development will fall into further decay. The planning committee appear to ignore traffic issues and the loss of facilities when it comes to approving large housing developments. This development will give so much more to the people of Clitheroe. It must be approved,

It is with great hope that the plans for holmes mill goes ahead . What better way of paying tribute to our Clitheroe heritage in transforming the mill where our ancestors including my mum worked there for generations and I for one think it is madness to stand in the way of Mr Warburton and his ongoing commitment to our town his reputation stands for itself.

This is an imaginative and exciting project which will be of huge benefit to the community of Clitheroe and Ribble Valley generally. It deserves our whole-hearted support!

I would like save the homes for part time or full parents on laws

Yvonne Duckett has said it all. Come on 'Planners' give the development some positive backing and then we can all see some progress. Cut out the negativity and press on.

It's will be good for Clitheroe something a little different with a touch of class plus a lot of new job opportunities!!!!! Also restoring one of Clitheroes old buildings and a little of its heritage.

I do not understand why there is an objection to this amazing plan for Clitheroe. The mill is now an eye sore and will only further deteriorate if left alone, no one can currently see the mill or the ' historic fabric', which they claim will be destroyed. Does the government/council intend to turn it into a museum? I would not think so, especially at a time when 5 museums in Lancashire are closing due to lack of government funding. Warburton s are a local family who sympathetically transform period buildings in the Ribble Valley and turn them into thriving businesses. For me this is so much better than outside developers with only their interests and profits as a priority, building mostly bland housing estates in inferior materials which are now becoming an eyesore. In Painter Wood once a characterful, historic part of the Ribble Valley they have built said estate with no consideration for people already living there, the views they once enjoyed are now ruined by bland, 3 storey, imitation stone houses. All those affected have now got their houses up for sale and no doubt will now find it difficult to sell them. Yet planning was passed for these! Highways should be finding solutions to our infrastructure problems not rejecting progressive ideas like this, all these new houses yet no infrastructure in place. In Italy they have underground parking near to historic sites. Surely the government has to play it s part now and give funding for car parks. Ribble Valley planning is archaic, we need new creative people involved.

I think this development will have a very positive impact on clitheroe.

No development means an increasingly derelict building complex as opposed to a postive enhancement of the area and the town.

This is an absolute must, would be great for the town of Clitheroe to make use of such a great building and location

A local prestigious company trying to regenerate a local iconic building... offering local jobs to local people.... pushing Clitheroe forward as a place to be.... really clitheroe council need to look beyond the end of their noses... i wish you well Jame's Places...... you have my backing 100%...... good luck.
