Support for the development of Holmes Mill Clitheroe

Wake up RVBC, This tremendous development of a derelict mill is recommended for refusal because of 'traffic concerns' when the housing developers with the chaos they're causing are given pretty much free reign? You couldn't make it up.

This development will bring jobs and more people to our town.

This development will create jobs but also boost tourism in Clitheroe and the ribble valley .To oppose this development will be a blow to the local economy and thevpeople of Clitheroe.

Please include a life-size statue of Kenny Loggins in the forecourt.

This project secures the jobs of 40+ LOCAL builders as well as creating 140 or so jobs in the long run. It returns to a former glory Holmes mill or thornbers mill as it's also known. A glory not in the production of cotton but as a leisure facility for the town. An opportunity for all to enjoy this focal point and see the engine at its centre, close up whilst enjoying a drink and food. An opportunity to take in the feel of the building that could be so easily lost if left to go derelict. With around 2000 houses planned for the area we are going to need this kind of facility for recreation and with the number of pubs lost in town and surrounding areas to see new exciting places to have a drink being opened is surely the way to reverse this sad decline. As s largely conservative area with a majority conservative council and David Cameron's manifesto quoting "creating more jobs by backing small business and enterprise" I'm surprised the local council may take a negative view on all this opportunity offers. As with any planning application there will always be issues. Like houses on flood planes !!! But more often than not with constructive discussion an compromise these issues can be resolved for the good of all.

This property will go to ruin otherwise and the economic benefits attached to this project out weighs any nonsense about parking etc. Clitheroe needs this for a better future and facilities both for visitors and locals
