I am signing this petition in support of Sandia Nordic Ski Club’s application for a NM Outdoor Recreation Division Trails+ Grant. Since their founding as a nonprofit public charity in 2017, Sandia Nordic has been working with the Sandia Ranger District to design, construct, and maintain groomed cross-country ski trails at the top of the Sandia Mountains. In just a few short years Sandia Nordic has become a highly valued member of the winter recreation community in the greater Albuquerque area as evidenced by the Club’s membership growth which has doubled each year since inception. I believe that Sandia Nordic’s groomed trails – along with other work that the Club does such as providing free clinics to adults and children – have truly enhanced the cross-country skiing experience at the top of the Sandias, and I support the use of NM ORD Trails+ Grant funding to help the Club further these enhancements.

This is an active wonderful group that pours heart and soul into improving trails that benefit hikers as well as skiers. I would like to see them get some financial help to continue their projects.

This is a great opportunity for economic development that comes with a Nordic facility in the Sandias. The Nordic Club has been an advocate for this type of environmentally friendly recreation. Lets support this group!

My family, including two children, for many years have greatly benefited from the great work Sandia Nordic Ski Club has done in planning, building, and maintaining cross-country ski trails as well as hosting free cross country skiing clinics. Please consider this nonprofit for the NM ORD Trails+ Grant.

I am in strong support of the work being done by Sandia Nordic. The trails will provide a high quality experience close to home - particularly important for those of us not able to travel the hours away needed to access a similar experience.

The club's work has significantly improved the skiing experience on the Sandias, made this resource more visible and accessible to the public, and gotten increasing numbers of children and young families on the trails.
