As an american gun violence survivor I so appreciate that an artist is willing to take this on publicly.
Practically anytime I tell someone I'm a gun violence survivor, I am met with silence. This silence of friends, people, society is not only alienating, it keeps me from participating positively in society.
To come across an exhibition like this would be cleansing & clearing for me and so many silent others.
We are silent bc terrorism works.
We need artists like Stephanie Mercedes to speak.
