I have known Melanie for over 30 years. She will land on her feet and clearly she was falsely accused and mistreated!

Melanie, it's been a really long time and I wish you strength in what you're facing. Life always throws curveballs. I'm pretty sure your dad taught you how to pitch right back. Good luck, stay strong!

Honestly what the heck. That's all i got to say. I know she doesn't abuse children like cmon. She may have been a little mad because the child wasn't cooperating when she asked the child to. So WCS get your stuff together.

I have not seen sweet Melanie Mitchell Lemon since college- but she left a lasting impression on me. She is an incredibly kind, sweet and loving young woman. And she has my 100% support. Praying for you pretty lady.

My son had her last year and we could not have asked for a better teacher! She was an absolute godsend and blessing and I can only hope and pray my youngest son will be able to have her as well!!

I agree with the parent’s comment above. I also want to address the issue with administration, mainly Dr. Donnelly as this is where the focus seems to be. As always there are two sides to every story; however, it appears there might be three sides to this story: Ms. Lemon, parents and administration. It is easy to assume that Dr. Donnelly is the villain and everything is 100% her fault. We ALL know that it is never one sided. I have heard words associated with her such as evil, bully, hate to name a few. It appears numerous parents have included their children in these discussions. What is sad is this is a very complicated issue that should have stayed between a principal and her teacher (and representative) plus the appropriate WCS personnel. I can’t understand why Ms. Lemon chose to air all her grievances with certain parents. There needs to be a wall between parents and teachers regarding personal relationships. This is very unprofessional in my opinion. I appreciated her caring heart with the children. However, I do NOT appreciate her unprofessional behavior. She has damaged the reputation of our school.
I do know that we are now a National Blue Ribbon School with numerous awards under Dr. Donnelly’s leadership. I believe we have outstanding teachers, staff and administration. It appears that Dr. Looney is very pleased with Dr. Donnelly’s performance. As parents, let’s stop trying to run the school and let the education professional do their job.

In high school, many moons ago, I was a year or so younger then Melanie. I always remember her as the sweetest person, as well as her brother and Mom! I don't know of the details, but I can say for sure, our educational system and world need to cherish sweet souls such as hers. Now, more then ever. Shame for this ridiculousness.

Good teachers need to be appreciated and recognized in positive manners. Top down approach to education is a shame.

I met Mrs. Lemon through her volunteer work at the Cooper Trooper Foundation. Her servant heart is so easily visible. It's my prayer that the space that the Lord has prepared for her in our hearts give her peace beyond understanding but the truth reveals itself soon so that her ministry can continue. I pray for the families that have had this misunderstanding, pray for the principle and all those who are currently in her class. In Jesus' name. Amen.
You have my support!
