The restricted scope permitted in Maryland, as opposed to other states I have worked with Athletic Trainers, severely limits the quality of care provided to patients.

It is very important to allow professionals to work to the top of their training and capabilities. I have experience working with athletic trainers in the industrial setting. I have seen, first hand, the positive impact they have on worker health and safety. Simply put, ATs keep the workforce working. Their proactive approach reduces musculoskeletal complaints and complications, which is a major problem in workforce health. Employers benefit from the resultant reduction in costs for work and non-work related injuries and illnesses. I support MD HB 576 and SB 732. I encourage you to do so as well.

Athletic Trainers are the root of every football team. They work countless hours to ensure that each player is able to play to the best of his ability. Without athletic trainers , college team won’t function right at all. I believe their salaries do not reflect the amount of work that they put in and they need to be respectfully compensated.

The Baltimore City and Prince George's County Police Departments inquiring how to devise an injury management program to hire a Maryland athletic trainer for injury reduction, worker's compensation cost reduction, and less time lost off the job for injury as well as improved health and wellness programs. Your public safety employees want athletic trainers!

I lived in Maryland and taught athletic training for 7 years. Athletic Trainers are highly skilled healthcare professionals who significantly benefit the public when allowed to practice to the level they have been educated.

I am retired and have given up my credentials. I still strongly believe that ATCs should be taken seriously and listen to. Being restricted is their practice is wrong. If you are not careful your state might not have any one day.
