I love the idea of using reclaimed materials in place of traditional materials. Its a wonderful fence, and I would build one myself if I had the opportunity. I would even use rustic wood and rusted corrugated metal too. Great conversation piece and love the rustic idea. Too bad the city doesn't see the "footprint" you're leaving on this town. Reduce,reuse, recycle. Great concept.
Let him keep the fence! I think its lovely.

Living in Chickasha, the code inspectors threatened to fine me for the grass in my alley being 1/2 inch too tall. I was gone on vacation and mowed when I got home. But they drove by daily threatening to fine me daily. Even though the notice said I had 5 days before further action would be taken. I made several complaints to city hall about my neighbors portion of the alley because although he mowed his, he never picked up a single piece of trash, he just mowed over it. He was never cited. That's the way Chickasha seems to do everything. The fence looks great. Little people taking what little power they gave whenever they see fit. Eventually they will move on to torment someone else.
