As an alum, I am heartbroken about this. I was an RA for years and all I ever wanted was the students to feel safe and welcomed at LC. I can't believe this happened. I am so sorry.

All students need campus and their community to be safe spaces and places in which to learn, grow, explore, connect and flourish.

As a long-time staffer, I want everyone at Lewis & Clark to feel safe and welcome. My door is always open.

Anti-black racism on campus is an ongoing issue throughout Oregon. The public nature of these threats, as opposed to those whispered or implied, is meant to intimidate, threaten, and silence you, to stop you from reaching your educational goals. Be strong, even though you should not have to be, and know hose of us who have done it before you are with you. Those who are doing it alongside you are with you. Walk with our strength and our love inside you, because we are survivors and warriors in a town that consistently denies the racism all around us. Know you are not alone.

I don't want to understand what the poster's thinking was but all my love is dedicated to every person, African American particularly, who feels threatened or scared because of racism that still haunts our community and our country.

Black Lives Matter. Sending so much love and support to our black students, staff and faculty. Hate speech will not be tolerated on our campus meant to bring people together. We must support each other.
