The Civic has provided excellent plays demonstrating the City’s outstanding talent. I love taking my grandchildren whenever I can and they love

This is a fantastic theater , because of the group of people running it together, and should be kept going for the good of the community!

Rochester Civic Theatre has been a wonderful part of the Rochester Community and should remain so. I was a performer there several years ago and had a wonderful experience.

The Rochester Civic Theatre is one of the most organized and professional theaters I’ve ever had the pleasure of being in. The staff work incredibly well together and the joy they work together to bring others is palpable

The Arts are the soul of our community, our people, and our broadest thinkers who have created amazing things. Do everything you can to support the Rochester Civic Theater, and all art forms. The ARTS are what help make us Human!

I think Rochester Civic Theatre has offered some outstanding productions over the years, especially in the last year. I have taken my grandchildren and children to the theater to introduce them to the concept of live theater. The quality for a Community theater is exceptional! This year, my 10-year-old grandson said, “I think I might like to do that when I grow up.” He did not want to go prior to seeing “Buddy, the elf.” It is an outstanding resource for Rochester with the added bonus that it is close by. I and my family would be sorely disappointed if the city did not support to Rochester Civic Theatre for this community. I implore you to continue supporting their endeavors.

One person arrived, dictated changes no volunteer that I know of agreed with, intimidated employees and volunteers, fired people without cause, lied to the community, lied to the volunteers, lied to the local media, and more. Some volunteers responded by walking away. Some responded by refusing to be forced out. Now, that person has fled and left a community of volunteers to fight for the life of the Civic Theatre. The words of Coucilman Wojcik this past week spitting vinegar into the faces of those who have given hundreds or thousands of hours to the cultural and artistic benefit of Rochester's citizens is beyond insulting. I have never met him. I've never seen him at the theatre. And yet he pretends to know the nature of the people who are there right now, trying to clean up the mess THEY DID NOT MAKE. He wrote so recklessly about how the letter from the NEW Board President made him laugh? Really. Is it funny that Rochester residents with families, leases, mortgages and a history of civic volunteerism have lost, or may lose, their jobs due to the deceit and mismanagement of an out-of-state, dictatorial egomaniac? Is that funny? His words are shameful. These are our fellow citizens -- our neighbors. I think a few basic characteristics of a community "leader" should be "informed," "fair," and "honest." Wojcik's assessment features none of those things. It takes NO EFFORT to be rude. It takes NO EFFORT to criticize someone you've never met. It takes NO EFFORT to slap an ill-fitting label on a group of people who aren't given the voice -- at least publicly -- to say how totally inaccurate said label is. It takes NO EFFORT to point a finger while stuffing one's ears with cotton. Is this leadership? Of course not. It's laziness. What a massive disappointment. A management interloper -- an almost usurper -- descended, drove an artistic cornerstone with a 70-year standing into the ground, and the Councilman says, "Oh, well. The end. Ha ha." What I see

I am always suspicious of Wojcik’s motives; to borrow from one of the greatest writers for the stage, “Me thinks the councilman doth protest too much.”

Rochester Civic Theatre gave me, a member of the rochester community, a place to share my voice and love of musicals. Taking it away from this ever growing community will only hold Rochester Minnesota back from becoming the amazing destination spot it can become.

Am hoping something can be done so Rochester Civic Theatre can continue. I feel it is a benefit to our community!

I feel that Rochester Civic Theater is important to the community and funding should continue as was previously allocated for the performing arts. The voice(s) of a select few in city council do not reflect my views on how taxpayer monies should be spent.
