SUPPORT Efren Carrillo, Sonoma County 5th District Supervisor

I agree 100% with this editorial. He's been cleared, and has continued to support the 5th District in any way that he can. Copa is completely right.

Given Efren's accomplishments and contributions as Supervisor I firmly believe we need his energy and committment in the 5th District and ask him to keep up the good work on oour behalf.

I agree 100% with Vesta's comments relative to Efron. I would imagine, that some of the other members of the board of supervisors have also made some mistake which they wish they could forget and erase. As Vesta said, he has done so much, continuously, even through all this "nailing him to the cross rhetoric". Let him stay at work and continue to represent those of us in the 5th district. so many people out there want to point a finger as if they have never done anything that they regret , yes i'm talking about you go home an look in the mirror an ask you self that question , I say leave the man alone an quit pointing finger.

I agree completely with Vesta's assessment and support of our 5th District Supervisor Efren Carrillo, but I am increasingly disturbed by my personal feelings of wondering if an ugly "witch-hunt" isn't being conducted by our local media and government with not so subtle racial undertones targeting the only "non-white" member of the Board of Supervisors... ?

Keep Efren in is position, he has done so much for the community and he deserves to go forward.

I ahve long appreciated Efren's commitment to the community on all levels. Our county's economy is based in large part on the production and promotion of alcohol. I know few people who imbibe who do not have a story of doing something they regret and would not ever do while sober. The smart ones learned from their mistakes. I think Efren is a smart one.

I respect Efren's service to our community as well as his humble and diligent attention to addressing, and growing from, his personal flaws. We all have them. Not everyone will admit to, or better themselves, by these life lessens. He shows incredible strength of character and has my fullest support.

Efren has continually shown he cares about the Conmunity he represents.

He was proven not guilty. The public has been trying to make him guilty since July. Leave the guy alone and let him do his job. He made a big mistake....who hasn't? Now he knows better, let's give him a chance to do better. He has been an excellent supervisor for the 5th District. Please let him do the job we elected him to do.

Efren has done alot of good for our community

We live in a culture that permits and promotes this entitled frat boy behavior. Every day the bars are full of men and women seeking sex with strangers. Date rape is a daily occurrence on college campuses. Perhaps this is behind the vitriolic responses of so many. Nearly everyone has a personal experience, or has a loved on who has experienced this type of behavior. However, it is possible to condemn the behavior without condemning the person. A person is defined by the sum total of ALL their behaviors, not just the ones we find most repulsive. Those that cannot see this need to look inside to find the compassion necessary to forgive, and the trust to allow for the changes in behavior that are surely to follow, as verified by Efren's commitment to sobriety and his self awareness of his actions. And, yes, we need to have compassion for the woman involved in this unfortunate incident. And I do, as do all who support Efren. But, no amount of retribution will undo what has been done. We must focus on what will do the most good going forward from here. Efren has the ability to continue to do great things for our community, and I believe he will. Therefor, I condemn his actions, but refuse to condemn the man.
