We strongly support Dr. Lussier's proposal to close enrollment at Hardy for grades K-3 and we implore school committee to support this proposal. From the beginning of academic year 2012 through today, we have seen the addition of more than 20 students, many into grades that were already at or above guidelines. Although we always welcome new families into the community, unchecked growth at Hardy presents serious stressors for our teachers and administrators and threatens to undermine the education of all of the children at Hardy. Having a community that is so attractive to families is something of which we should be proud, with our school system being the key attraction. We want to ensure that we do not undermine this most vital of institutions and the driving force behind people viewing Wellesley as a desirable community. With 15 houses in the Hardy district currently on the market (as of 2/10/13), and 10 of them priced at or above $1.5 million with 4 to 5 bedrooms, it is possible we will see additional enrollment in the short term and very likely in the longer term. Please take the measure of closing enrollment.
THE MOMENTUM BEHIND DR. LUSSIER'S PROPOSAL IS ABSOLUTELY EXPLOSIVE RIGHT NOW!! IT IS BEYOND INCREDIBLE TO SEE THIS COMMUNITY UNITE TO PROTECT OUR SCHOOLS!!

The classrooms are just way to crowded right now. You can see the teachers getting burnt out and the kids arent getting the attention they deserve.

We moved here for the schools but if the classes get any bigger it wont matter how good the teachers are. Please stop the overflow.

Fix this before the school year starts. overcrowding is ruining the experience for everyone.

My son is in a class that is way over capacity. He barely gets any one on one time anymore. Dr Lussier is right.

Enough is enough. Hardy is bursting at the seams and we have to put the kids first before the property values.
