Removing this training sets a dangerous precedent that the university will bow to external voices even if what the institution is doing is beneficial to the students, faculty, and staff simply due to optics.

I am shocked that a report on Fox News would change your views on such an important issue. I thought this school was more intellectual than that. Certainly wouldn’t encourage young adults to enroll in a school with Fox influence. EMU is much more open to all ideas.

Learning about the differences in our cultural, racial, gender and sexuality backgrounds and how to treat each other with respect is never a bad thing.
Pandering to a screaming strident fringe is cowardly and lacks integrity. Respecting all of your community is key to a successful university. Stand up and do the right thing.

Diversity training is extremely important, especially for a predominantly white school like JMU. I once attended this school and, as a black female student, had such an awful time that I sped through my classes to graduate early. I don’t want any other marginalized students or teachers to face what I and many other friends have faced. Do. Better. Take these trainings seriously.
