2025 benefit will have a program called FitOn health
It would be great if community center were established as a location free of charge for exercise

It truly doesn’t make sense to have the extra charge for the one water exercise class. I assumed somehow that the trainer needed to be paid more for this class!

We need more recreational opportunities that are considered low impact and still provide the benefits of increasing personal fitness levels via flexibility, endurance, strength, and cardio. Aquacise enables swimmers and non swimmers of all ages to participate and is a positive experience for everyone involved. The membership costs should include aquacise as an included fitness opportunity within the group exercise schedule.

As a PT, I feel this class is very beneficial to those wanting to get in shape and don’t like to exercise.

I am a resident of this community. I am not a member of the DTCC as it is cheaper for me to pay for the aquacise class as I go. If there was NOT an extra fee then I would gladly join. This class is so important for the health and mobility of our senior citizens in Derry Township. It ultimately benefits everyone. Everyone wants their parents and grandparents to be happy and healthy. Wake up Derry Township and do the right thing.

I am aware of members who need this form of exercise but can’t pay the fee on top of an already high membership fee.

Ladies,
Thank you for addressing the aquatic arthritis class fees to the boards attention, please also tell them about the cold environment in our locker rooms, swimming pools areas and water temperatures.

The fees for people that are already members is ridiculous. I am not a member for just that reason. The only thing that I was coming for was the aqua classes. It's cheaper not to be a member.
As a tax payer that's horrible. I have to pay for the upkeep and then subsidized all of the free memberships and then pay for the membership and extra classes. The extra money doesn't even go to the instructors...
I can go to the gym down the street that has a pool and take the same two classes twice a week and pay $28.00 a month. And they have other classes.
You need to consider the alternatives.

Water Aerobics give many people with arthritis the ability to exercise. Charging for these classes is unfair, since all members can come and use the leisure pool with no extra charge. If you attend 2 classes for 50 weeks, that is an additional $500 a year. This extra fee should be dropped. Thank you for your consideration with this concern.

I spent an extra $10/ week for most of my 3 month membership. I am currently deciding if I will continue membership or join water classes through GEARS due to costs

Since this is a class for arthritis and joint health, it isa medical treatment and should be accepted for seniors on Medicare.

As a new member I was very surprised to have to pay a daily fee for water classes. This might explain the small participation.

I just joined this facility in June (as an out-of-town resident), and thoroughly enjoy the aqua classes. I've been attending 3 classes per week, which does add up pretty quickly at $15 per week. Classes do not get crowded, but attendance could certainly be capped if that is the issue.

I have limited my aqua exercise to once weekly at a cost of $20/month. Interesting fact - I just finished reading book about Milton Hershey. He had many ideas of ways to serve the community. When I look at people who attend aqua exercise. Most are retired women, not all live in Hershey. I find it interesting that this is only program that is charged and would ask that reduced fee, monthly discount or dropping fee all together be considered. Thank you for taking time to read this comment.
