It’s ridiculous that a school would be closed and the entire staff is not transferred to the new school with students. Many of our families rely on relationships with trusted teachers, and starting over with no familiar faces is a real struggle for our students and their families. Additionally, the staff should be given priority placement at the new school since the school closure is not of their doing or choice. Please give teachers and staff priority placement at the new school and provide our families with continuity as they transition to a new school building. Laura McCracken

Students can be vulnerable at this age and the consistency of having their trusted adults transition with them smoothly would be effective and beneficial.

I taught at Potomac View for 9 years. It is the school that made me a teacher. There are MANY families who would walk their students to school. The least that can be done is to allow the current teachers and administration to move to the new school.

The bond between teacher and students is especially important when the student faces any vulnerability. A building change, new bus routes, add to insecurities. Keep the staff intact!

Closing schools when all of the area elementary schools are significantly over crowded is ridiculous.

I am FOREVER a member of the PVES family. PVES students, staff and teachers deserve a chance to transition to the new school together.

As a former Potomac View employee, I have seen the greatness that this school has to offer and I have never seen the student/teacher relationships at any other school like I have here! They are a family and deserve better. Please keep these teachers and kids together!

Keep our current teachers and all faculty with our current students!! This has been the most unacceptable situation to displace our current teachers not giving them first choice to move directly to the new school and forcing them to apply to new jobs. Give them their positions at the new school. This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional from PWCS to displace our current teachers and admin support staff.

Potomac View has always been an important part of our community. As a previous employee there, I am grateful for the love and support our children receive every day from the awesome staff. They need and deserve to see friendly, caring faces as they face the challenges of this major change. And the teachers deserve to be given the opportunity to continue with their Potomac View family!

Students need continuity, especially if they are having issues.

Not guaranteeing the teachers will not be taken away from these students is going to cause more harm than good. They need these familiar faces to continue to thrive in the environment they’ve been placed in

Making teachers apply for a transfer because you’re closing the school is atrocious! How disrespectful to those educators.
