I support the right for these teachers, staff, and students to have a better option than closing Potomac View.

As a former Potomac View Educator I fully support this. Sending best wishes & hope during this difficult time.

As Potomac View ES closes and a new one opens, students deserve stability and continuity. Allowing current teachers to remain with their students during this transition keeps these trusted relationships intact, reduces disruption, supports student well-being, and ensures a smooth, successful start in the new building. We urge decision-makers to prioritize what is best for kids by keeping their teachers with them.

It is disheartening to know that the county would think of separating teachers from the students and families they have spent time building relationships with. The lack of continuity for the students moving to a new building, and potentially having a whole fresh staff of teachers is unthinkable. Please reconsider and move the existing staff with the students to the new building rather than forcing teachers to reapply for the positions, they currently hold.

Please let staff have a job and not make them fight for a position they already have!

Relocate instead of redistrict.

This would never be possible in a more affluent area of PWC. It’s sad that our familles at risk and the staff that serves them are being disrespected and disregarded.

As a staff member at a middle school that receives students from Potomac View, this makes me so sad! PWCS has a responsibility to not only the students and families affected, but most certainly the dedicated staff!

We must do what is right by students. We also must do what is right by teachers who have built these relationships with students who are already facing instability on other areas of their life at this time. Reclassify please

In 2010, I was part of the staff of Triangle Elementary as we transitioned from an old building to the current building. The entire staff and student body made the transition together. Potomac View should be extended this same opportunity.

My siblings and I went to this school and I have very fond memories here. Closing this school, relocating children from what they’re used to, and taking jobs from these hard working teachers is very upsetting. Please rethink this decision or create a different path where the teachers keep their jobs and the kids keep stability.
