Please recognize the inadequacy of funding for services and apply the savings from closing developmental Centers to supporting the Lanterman Act and regional centers

The savings from closing down Developmental Centers must go to funding community based services to support people with developmental disabilities in our communities.

Funding really needs to happen to unfreeze the rates that has caused a huge shortage of behavior services in our area. We are losing providers because the rates are unsustainable to allow them to stay in business. This means for individuals with severe challenging behaviors such as aggression, self-injurious behavior and property destruction our families are on waitlists for years.

The right to services for the disabled community is fundamental to quality of their lives, for their physical well-being, health and life long learning.

It is important to keep this money in the system so that all people with I/DD can get the support and assistance they need to be successful in the community.

Funds must be available to provide needed care. Please don't repeat past mistakes that just dumped people on the streets where they did not receive needed care.

Funding for developmental disability services needs to be increased, and the existing funding for developmental centers should be kept in our system to support those community services.

Please DO NOT put any monies saved by shutting down developmental centers into the General Fund!! Keep the funding where it will help this fragile community!

I am the Mother of a son in Supported Living Services. Every adult with developmental disabilities has the right to live in a home of their own in a community of their choosing. These services, however, are compromised by lack of funding partially because of the excessive cost of the developmental centers. As the centers are closing, do the right thing and keep the monies within the scope of support for the DD community as they were initially supported so quality services can continue

I support the closing of Develomental Centers being a former patient of one. We Spend far too much money on them. Money needs to go to services for the Developmentaly Disabled.
