As both an advocate and family member I find it tragic that the basic human rights of people labeled with disabilities are still fighting for basic human rights. Any attacks on the Lanterman Act would be a tragic step backward.

My daughter Antonia Gonzalez was fortunate to have participated in many of the regional center programs. Please act responsibly and continue to fund the community-based programs/services.

I have worked with individuals with developmental disabilities for more than twenty years and beseech you to make sure that these critically important funds continue to be provided to programs for individuals with developmental disabilities rather than re-routed to the General Fund.

The work and the services that the Lanterman Act funding helps to bring to individuals with developmental disabilities is invaluable help to the Community. We can't allow for this funding shortage to affect all of these lives!

It is paramount that we uphold our commitment to the Lanterman Act and the population we serve. The funds from the Development Centers should not be diverted to the General Fund, but instead stay in support services to where it was intended to go.

I adopted my son who was born addicted to street drugs, he has intellectual and behavioral difficulties and cerebral palsy and epilepsy. I made this commitment only because the Lanterman Act seemed to be a life long partner. Keep the Promise!!!
