An excellent idea to help the general public whose time has come

As a practicing psychologist, I have witnessed a significant lack of mental health prescribers for many years that is now a crisis. Please support Psychologist prescription legislation.

It is important for the extended citizens of the country to have Clinical Psychologists with specialized advance training in clinical psychopharmacology be granted prescriptive authority.

I am a prescribing psychologist in New Mexico. All types of health care professionals refer to me for my services. I am providing services that would not have been available to my patients if New Mexico had not endorsed/legalized RxP.

Please support this important initiative.

I fully support the passage of this bill. Research shows psychologists provide a safe, effective, and knowledgeable addition to existing prescribers.

This bill would have an overwhelmingly positive impact on our rural regions where there are serious gaps in psychiatric prescribers.

This would drastically improve access to services that are in dire need. This would also allow for medications to be provided in a more holistic manner, as psychologists would take the whole individual into account when prescribing, and not just prescribe through a medical context only.

Through passage of this bill it will add access to care for more patients in Colorado.

I am a keen supporter of prescriptive authority for appropriately trained psychologists particularly for undeserved populations in both rural and urban areas. There are too few providers to meet the mental health needs of many communities. After passage of enabling legislation nearly everyone working on the "front-line" actually working with individuals say 'welcome, get to work as soon as possible'. It IS the right thing to do!

Prescribing Psychologists are proven to bring a powerful blend of psychotherapeutic and psychopharmacological skills to our work with people who are in need of care.

Prescriptive authority for psychologists is an extraordinarily appropriate and helpful initiative to deal with the shortage of physicians who prescribe psychiatric medication. These people are trained in both therapy and medication use.They are mature and vetted. They have, at a minimum, the training of a psychiatric nurse practitioner plus a full level of doctoral training and applied psychology.

This is much needed!

As a graduate of Rocky Ford High School, before moving out of state, I'm hoping that Colorado psychologists, like we in New Mexico, can begin managing mental health medications for the patients in need in Colorado. We have a long history of safe prescribing in New Mexico.

As an early-career clinician in the process of completing a PsyD, I support this initiative to enable prescriptive privileges for trained psychologists.

There needs to be more support available to the general public for mental health services and the current model is not effective. Providers with proper training have been shown to be efficient in providing services and the public should be allowed access to providers willing and capable of meeting their needs.

Increasing access to care with qualified prescribing psychologists will greatly assist the currently beleaguered mental health systems and providers addressing the mental health needs of Coloradans.
