As a psychologist, I know first hand that we are in the midst of a mental health crisis or extreme proportions. There are insufficient resources available for persons who require psychotropic medication. Psychologists have the appropriate clinical experience to assist with this need, if duly trained and licensed to prescribe. I do hope you agree and will support this initiative.

As a medical psychologist/ psychopharmacologist I have worked as part of the CL Service at several hospitals and the support we provide to attending physicians in regards to psychiatric conditions is highly appreciated by them and the patients. Psychologists already bring a highly specialized training in mental health and when effectively trained rigorously in the medical aspect of prescribing medications, the results have proved to be highly efficacious.

I support this measure.

As a US Army prescribing psychologist i wholeheartedly support the pursuit of prescriptive privileges for Colorado psychologists. It is a moral, ethical and clinical imperative in behavioral medicine and psychiatry that every fully trained practitioner is provided the resources and legal framework to practice at the top of their licenses. Thank you for your support for those specialty trained psychologists to prescribe psychotropic medications.

Improves access and quality care.

Prescriptive authority for psychologists would provide greater access to quality and effective mental health treatment. This legislation is long overdue.

I am currently in the MS Clinical Psychopharmacology program at NMSU to become a prescribing psychologist. This movement to allow psychologists to provide holistic and higher quality care is of utmost importance now and in the future of our mental health crises.

Prescription privileges should absolutely be provided to appropriately trained clinical psychologists, states and regions thst have done so have greatly benefited with wider, more comprehensive mental health services available to all.

This legislation will help address the crisis of mental health care accessibility in Colorado particularly for underserved Coloradans.

According to research, suicide rates will improve in states where psychologists with proper training are allowed to prescribe.

Prescription privileges for psychologists is an opportunity to address the growing need for mental health care for our communities.
