Psychologists, Mental Health Providers & General Public Support of RxP for Psychologists

Expanding access is so important and this is a smart and effective way to do it!

The more therapy-aware prescribers we have the more likely some will take insurance and be accessible. Current wait times are risking my client’s lives: being in Medicaid should not be a risk to one’s life. Let’s accelerate this and get up to speed as Canada has been for some time.

As a physician and psychotherapist I struggle to find a psychiatrist when I need assistance with medication management. Psychologists with additional training and prescription privileges would be a reasonable, viable solution.

Need more providers and increase access to care

Access is a real issue here. I regularly see patients who struggle to find a provider to manage their psychotropics.

Psychologists who have met RxP training requirements are capable of safely and effectively prescribing psychotropic medications to help alleviate the mental health crises with which our country grapples. Allowing properly trained psychologists to prescribe will afford access to needed mental health care for many people who otherwise may be unable to access it.

Please help those who help others have the resources to do their best. Mental health is a big issue in the US and we need more people who can service them in the best way possible.

Colorado needs this bill. The pediatric population is particularly underserved. It's time to take steps to ease the shortage of mental health services in the state.

The training of prescribing psychologists is extensive and comparable to other professionals who prescribe medications to patients with mental health concerns. This bill is about improving access to highly specialized services to patients who need them.

With the shortage of psychiatrists, and family doctors being overburdened, this makes sense. And it has a lot of protections for patients as far as training.

Passing this would positively benefit the patients currently waiting for services.

This will benefit patients significantly since they spend a great deal of time with psychologists monitoring systems and working toward improvement

responsibly expanding care to increase needed access just makes too much sense

This will increase access to mental health services without risk to the public.

It's beyond sad that Colorado ranks last in the nation amongst those in need of mental care. If this petition helps move that needle, it is more than worthwhile.

I support this bill as a Veteran with PTSD. There is a serious need for veterans, among all the residents of Colorado, to receive as much help as possible. Please pass this bill!
