It is essentail that all citizens have the opportunity to debate and have their voices heard on all issues affecting them and their lives. This is a fundamental principle of democracy. Without these rights, democratic processes will be seriously eroded. I would therefore like to call for effective and meaningful amendments and robust measures to ensure that every citizen has the opportunity to voice their opinion and influence future policies and legislation, and to call the government to account at all stages of the legislative process.
