As a coeliac I value having a venue where I know the food is safe for me to eat and not have to worry about cross contamination from other food containing gluten - as is the case with many venues which serve food. I have eaten at Cafe Henkel on a number of occasions and would be very unhappy with Council if their decision not to approve the use of the larger space meant this wasn't possible in future. There are very few gluten free venues and currently Cafe Henkel is the only Cafe certified as gluten free by the Coeliac Society.

Cafe Henkel are fantastic. A cafe that goes to this much trouble to cater for coeliac disease should be supported not bonded by red tape! Come on Council!

Excellent venues which successfully cater for special dietary needs are few and far between, so Council please assist in every way possible to help Cafe Henkle remain open to provide this essential service to a large number of the population. Thank you.

We need this cafe. We drive from Sunbury th Brunswick because of the small choices for gluten free. This place is a God’s send. You owe it to the people to help cafe henkel.

Please help this cafe to succeed in business as they are supporting so many people who unfortunately find it difficult to enjoy the simple pleasures of eating out due to Coeliac disease or gluten intolerance.

Dont eat out anymore since I found out I had Coeliac disease in 2010, but we need to support these types of cafes that cater to people like me.

It never ceases to amaze me how local councils can and will destroy people’s lives and businesses without repercussions. Please explain to all of us why the procrastination in approving these permits??? Why??
