I have coeliac disease so I feel the fear of being 'glutened' every time I eat out. It is so refreshing to eat somewhere I know I will be safe, and it brings so much peace and joy to the coeliac community. I can't wait for a 100% gluten free function room, as there are currently no safe venues for functions and events for people with coeliac disease.

C'mon Moreland City Council! As the partner of a Coeliac, cafe and dining options are extremely limited. Can you imagine not being able to stroll into any old cafe or restaurant and eat a pie, sausage roll, fish and chips or make extensive enquiries to waiters checking to see if the food being cooked in a kitchen is not just gluten free but also free of cross contamination? Life can be pretty tough for coeliac sand their partners. To have a safe place like Cafe Henkel is a godsend. We cross the city to go there. So how about giving coeliacs a break and approving the application from Cafe Henkel!

Come on you people there at Moreland City Council, please approve this application for all of us Coeliacs and our long suffering families and friends who have trouble catering safely for us. If you can’t do it for us, do it for the City of Moreland. You will be recognized as the best council in Australia for approving a totally gluten free function space and Coeliacs will come in droves, so you’ll need a bigger cafe to accommodate them all!

As there are very few safe places for coeliacs to eat, we really want Cafe Henkel to get council approval to continue trading.

Please help keep Cafe Henkel open, it has delicious food, but more importantly it is completely safe for those of us that are coeliacs!

Gluten free cafes are a godsend for coeliacs. They are few and far between. Cafe Henkel has some of the best gluten free food I have ever tasted. Please approve the function room ASAP! We can not afford to lose this valuable resource.

I have a difficult time with my gluten allergies and Henkel Cafe serves amazing food that I thought I might never be able to eat again. I really hope they are able to open their function room next door as that would make it a great place whenever I want to take the family out to dinner or celebrate the kids birthdays. I fully support them!

Henkel Cafe is one of a very few cafes that I trust with my dietary requirements 100 percent. Their understanding and hospitality is outstanding. If they are approved to expand their business I know I would be extremely thankful. It would be great to come their for birthday parties or family dinners knowing I can choose from their entire menu and feel at ease that I will be looked after. Please allow them to expand as many of us celiacs know it's very difficult to find a place like Henkel Cafe.
