It would be amazing to have an ice rink in Pittsburgh! Currently, having to travel so far outside of the city to play hockey, or to go skating is a real pain. (Though I love Schenley Park rink in Wintertime). Having such an impressive, convenient facility for healthy recreation activities would certainly help the community, and be a great asset for Pittsburgh.

Something like this is MUCH needed in the newly refreshed east liberty area. There's plenty of residential and retail. Not 1 rink in the Pittsburgh city limits. With the people living in the expensive condos and houses in the area, they will have a place to skate and have their kids particulate in hockey.

ice is becoming quite tough to get around the region and having a centrally-located sheet could help the general public as well as those playing in organized leagues both adult and youth.
