Finally, I wouldn't have to drive 20-30+ Minutes just to have league play, or pick up time.

It is sad that the city of Pittsburgh does not have a recreational rink!

nothing beats a recreational facility (ice skating rink) that would serve the burgeoning population in the Shadyside/East Liberty area. A win win for kids of ALL ages.

Driving to the suburbs for hockey is ridiculous and impacts the area's air quality and congestion. Having local ice will make Pittsburgh into a more livable city. More apartments in this location will not.

I support the Ice Rink Option for the armory redevelopment.

I live about 150 yards from the Armory in a single family home. More apartments over top of the ones already being built in East Liberty is irresponsible. No to apartments.

Too many apartments for wealthy people are crowding out working families with children. Not only suburban families like access to ice rinks.

We have plenty of apartment buildings in the city, and specifically in Shadyside. There also already exists business incubator office space. A hockey rink, while probably not the highest revenue generator for the city, provides a way for the entire community to enjoy this historic structure.

An urban setting skating rink would be a great addition to the city!

I have been playing/coaching hockey in the Pgh area for the last 23 years. This is a phenomenal idea as there is no real option for an ice rink in the city limits. Every rink is outside of the city. It would be great for city children to have a place to play, and not have to drive 30 minutes to Harmar, Castle Shannon, or Neville Island. I fully support this idea and believe it would be tremendous to have an ice rink in Shady Side!

I have taken children and grandchildren to skating rinks (free skating and ice hockey) for over 40 years. There have been no consistent facilities in our geographic area (Squirrel Hill) despite our very large and dense population. Such a facility would be most welcome.
