This is yet more cleansing of the long standing businesses of Hackney - replacing them with abstract ideas of a new look Hackney. Have the council learned nothing from the disaster that is Hackney Walk?! They should be supporting businesses that are part of the community not erasing them. Where is the councils loyalty ? To the people of Hackney or to big business ?

ARGUN are at the heart of our community. They provide stationery, printing, binding and more. They are especially vital for the young kids in the area attending secondary school, college and university, providing them with all their stationery needs. It's the only shop in the hackney central area that provides this.

Independent Businesses must be nurtured. Higher rents mean higher prices for consumers and lower profit margins and working capital for entrepreneurs - no one wins unltimately .... even the leasing company suffers as they cannot let their properties. See the number of arches that are left unrented!
