Support Argun Stationers against unlawful lease termination

I have lived in this area for 29 years, l use Argun stationers regularly, they are really helpful and an aset in that location. Hackney council developed the arches before with no real research into what businesses would thrive there, big designer labels left as there is no footfall along that stretch. Hackney council need to listen to their residents, spending a fortune re-doing the area in front of the town hall, which to the layman looked perfectly adequate before. Closing big roads like Richmond Road, causing chaos around the borough. Why not encourage new businesses to the arches and protect long-standing, cherished businesses and leave them where they are. Put greed to one side for a change.

Please save our local community stationary!!!!

i am a regular at Argun and i see how much they care and how hard the staff work to help the community. i will never forget seeing a member of staff literally typing up an email for an elderly lady who could not use a computer as she dictated a very long (2 x A4 pages) handwritten letter to him. he was extremely kind and patient with her and they clearly knew her well. she was evidently comfortable with them and knew she could rely on them for this kind of help. argun is a pillar of the community and very well loved at that. its the only longstanding stationers in the area and supports the community far more than whatever bar it would be replaced with could (and we do NOT need more bars there are a ridiculous number already!) ive lived in hackney my whole life and have seen time and time again local community businesses be kicked out in favour of countless overly priced establishments which do not serve the community and only serve the wealthy people who move into the area as gentrification gets worse and worse. i urge you to please save Argun, keep them here, you have the chance to make a difference to our community and what Hackney really is and should be. I am so tired of all of the new natural wine bars / small plates / overpriced homeware shops / upmarket dog groomers for pedigree dogs etc which have replaced the businesses and priced out the residents of the borough i know and love. and this is not the sentiment of the stereotyped “jaded older person afraid of change” - i am a 23 year old artist who misses being able to afford living in my borough and the community i grew up with. young people want the real hackney too. OF COURSE change is an inevitable part of life and growth but this should be changing things that NEED to be changed - NOT replacing longstanding community businesses with yet another bar aimed at the wealthy people who move to Hackney now that they’ve decided its “cool” and no longer “gross and scary”. thank you for reading,

To relocate in morning lane will not benefit the business. The narrow way is a better place and more accessible for his customers.

Argun Stationers must stay! It has a lot of useful stationary and art supplies for school children and adults alike!

Been going here since I was a child. This shop is essential for hackney residents. It is often the main reason I go to mare street and I then use the other businesses there. Causing them to move would cause a huge dent in the area.

This is unacceptable

I have been an Argun customer for over 15 years!! They are a local institution and integral to the fabric of our local community. ALWAYS welcoming and friendly - always have everything on hand and their services are vital to my business! The area would not be the same without them and the Arch Company are clearly motivated by profit and not community.

this is horrible what is happening. a gentrification which is not necessary

Who is the landlord?

Keep Argun part of the community. I was an art student 2000-2003 and they would let me have free colour copies when i was broke. We need this kind of community business.
