This shop is a bedrock of the community. I have used it regularly since moving into the area in 1992. Whilst the area is becoming a successful part of the night time economy it is also an important part of the daytime economy of a functioning town centre. The landlords appear to be the Arch company. Whilst they have been very successful at realising full value from railway arches their remit and interests do not extend to wider areas outside of their control or interest. Also whilst it is laudable that the failed fashion units are being repopulated/rethought - this must not be done by ripping successful longstanding existing tenants out of their current premises and using them to repopulate undesirable units. This may serve the arch company and their beneficiaries but is harmful to hackney and it's cohesive community

This “treasure trove” of a printing and stationery shop is a Hackney institution and should not be forced out.

I've used this shop regularly for years for printing. Great service right in the middle of the community. It would be a huge unjust shame to move it out in favour of a shiny, heartless chain (as has happened with the likes of Pret and Gail's in the area recently) just to generate more rent for the landlord.

A Hackney institution. An absolute array of stationery you can’t get anywhere else round here and fantastically friendly customer service every time you go in. Greedy landlords once again trying to kill the area.

Argun is a vital part of Hackney Central and Mare Street. It is the only shop providing products and materials for students, artists and designers in the area
