If you want to keep the high street alive, shops like Argun Stationers need to be retained and supported. This shop is excellent providing printing services as well as a wide range of retail stationary products for local people.

This shop in Hackney has always had anything I have wanted. Their stock is so great….never been let down by them. Always helpful and knowledgeable. Argument… please stay where you are.

I use Argun regularly, both for my business and personal use. It has been a stalwart for the 20 years that I've lived in the area

I have loved and enjoyed working with the team, service and supplies at Argun Stationers for several decades. This is catastrophic a catastrophic decision by the council. They are a keystone business in the Hackney ecosystem

I’ve been a loyal Argun customer for 28 years. Aside from the excellent customer service and vast range of stationery and gifts, the key to its success is its location. The footfall at the current site simply can’t be replicated elsewhere. That Hackney Council and the leaseholders would treat a thriving local business so detrimentally is shocking. So the plan is to create a new nightlife destination at Bohemia Place? Surely there are enough arches without also seizing the Argun site, especially given its position fronting onto Mare Street/Narrowway. Just looking at the ‘fashion zone’ eyesore on Morning Lane should be a salutary lesson in the powers-that-be trying to engineer what’s ‘hot’ in the world of fashion and entertainment. All this while threatening the incredibly popular and genuinely ‘organically’ successful music venue round the corner, the MOTH Club. Hackney’s rich culture derives from grassroots talent and creativity, not top-down imposition. For town centres to thrive, they need a range of shops, services and venues. Surely, with their established customer base, Argun and the MOTH Club are anchor points drawing in customers to Hackney Central. They are existing assets. Don’t mess with what is already working.
