I see no reason to take away from the accomplishments of him or the rest of the team simply because he wrote a kickass shirt.

You should not feel ashamed, you should not apologize, you did nothing wrong. What is wrong is the overreaction that has been blown out of proportion by a very small number of people who want us to believe a lot of people are offended.

I can honestly say I noticed nothing about the shirt except that it was colourful. I wasn't interested in the skirt but in the stupendous achievement of you all. I loved your joy and excitement, please don't let nasty bullies spoil it for you. They ARE bullies and therefore failures, successful people don't bully. If you were like them and only saw negative things then this stupendous achievement wouldn't have happened. Keep doing what you do, be happy with those you encounter in person, and ignore the few sad people who can't see what is really important in life.

This is a pretty huge achievement, and I'm shocked that people are sweeping this milestone under the rug just because of his shirt. I just can't believe it.

Matt, seriously, congratulations on an amazing feat of aerospace engineering. Don't listen to a bunch of bloggers yelling at you from behind a computer screen. That being said, should really have not apologized for something that other people feel, this is their modus operandi and capitulating just shows them that they own you.

Space exploration is the future of mankind, but seems to have been largely forgotten, at least by the public at large. Your work and that of your team go beyond the petty squabbles of untalented people with too much time on their hands. Also, your shirt is amazing, and as a gift of love I understand why you chose to wear it on such an important moment. Let haters hate, their names will be forgotten. Yours will not.

We need to congratulate this man and his team for their achievements and his awesome shirt. Not condemn him.
