Dear Matt, you are an accomplished scientist and (as far as I can tell) a very nice and decent person. I'm sorry you had to go through this stupid ordeal because of the shirt (which is really badass, btw). You had nothing to apologize for. It's people like you who push the humanity to the future, and people who thought you're in any way sexist are pulling our society back into the dark ages. Shame on them. Please keep doing what you do.

reality: a popular Australian morning show presenter wore the same blue suit in his shows for 1 year as an experiment & nobody noticed until he disclosed recently. While his co-host was judged every day for her hair to clothes. Anyway I guess feminists bring complexity in uncalled for things, not things requiring real attention. Focus on this guys achievements..

Those who are complaining about the shirt lack the ability to perceive the enormity of what Dr Taylor and his colleagues have achieved in landing Philae on a comet. They're entitled to their views, but they can never diminish the historic standing of the Rosetta mission, and of those brilliant, inspirational minds that brought it about. Those whose priorities are right won't have to think twice before expressing their support and admiration for Dr Taylor and the entire ESA Rosetta team.
