Support a mask mandate for Kingsport City Schools

You have all the information or data you need. Local, state, and federal health agencies all say masks for everyone in public settings, regardless of vaccination status.

My daughter got COVID after her first week at Jefferson. She wore a mask, but it is not sufficient protection unless other layers of protection are also added - including others wearing masks.

Those in the medical field are pleading for mitigation measures in schools. These are local experts. They have nothing to gain from misinformation but so much to lose. We may never know if some things were overreacted too but we are already seeing the harm of doing too little. Public health is a community responsibility, it takes all.

I fully support a mask mandate because I believe it will reduce the spread of Covid-19. I value life.

I have 2 children in the Kingsport city school district and without any doubts support a mask mandate! Our children and staff should be protected to the best of our ability, and that begins with a mask mandate!

This is not about simply caring about your own children… this is about everyone caring about one another’s children.

To prevent the spread, this is something we as community member, can help. Fully support it.

If you think about how difficult it can become to breathe once somebody has Covid, especially unvaccinated, wearing a mask is nothing. I understand for children it's a bit more difficult, but I'd rather they be uncomfortable for a few hours than in the hospital.

We did masks last year and everyone was fine. This year its even more important!

It is up to the City school system to provide a safe learning environment for our children and grandchildren. Masks are a simple and effective way to stop the spread of Covid. Our grandson was home schooled for a year but has already contracted COVID from the Kingsport city schools within his first two weeks of school. Please look out for our children.

Our pediatric hospitals are full. A mask mandate protects ALL kids who need hospitalization.

We need to protect the children and staff.

PLEASE put a mask mandate in place to protect my immune compromised daughter. She wants more than anything to be in school with her peers.
