As your course rep this year, I have gaged a feeling of dissatisfaction with the academic rigour and levels of engagement with the GVS module.

I am going to approach the Head of Sociology (Ricky Gee) and ask that there is a rethink of the way the module is taught, or to change the module all together.

• The module lacks focus- we don't go deeper than the surface of gender issues, moving too fast through the topics
• Lack of clear direction and guidance
• The two hour sessions are not beneficial.
• The module is not taught in an engaging way- videos are a main method of teaching.
• Discussions are not structured and therefore the relevance of the video is often missed.
