Some areas of our coast are increasing in temperature at around 0.1 °C per decade. Only a network (i.e. enabling connectivity) of parks can accomplish successful conservation outcomes when the species along our coast respond to the rising temperatures by undergoing range shifts.

Good day,
As an avid scuba diver I have seen the good that MPA's can do, I just have a few concerns.
With the vast increase in MPA's what is going to be done to maintain that regulations are being followed by ocean users?
Could you inform the public of where the 21 proposed areas are and let the public give their input of the proposed areas.
But on a whole I am all for expanding our MPA's I do believe it will help combat alot of issues that our marine life is facing as long as the invasive species are kept in check for their respective areas.

The ocean resources need as much protection and careful management as possible if they are to be a viable resource in our future. We cannot afford to over-exploit them - lets protect them and benefit by learning how to use them sustainably.

I fully support the proposed establishment/rezoning of the 22 MPAs as gazetted. This step would be to sacrifice some short-term destructive gain for long-term constructive sustainability. Much like investing money for the future.

At last some desperately needed foresight. May this proposal become a reality. May giant trawlers and long lines that are depleting marine life, including pelagic birds that are caught in those lines, be outlawed.
