I agree 100%. What they may not realize is that it would be IMPOSSIBLE for us to make enough money without the beer sales. My entire business concept would have to change to make up for the lack of sales. My first employee already has had to wait to get more hours until we get our beer license. I can't really afford to give him more hours until we get our beer license at the end of this month. Luckily, he has been very flexible and understanding of our situation here and is willing to wait to get full-time work. I share this, because many who oppose this type of alcohol license at our location may not realize the consequences.

Golf and enjoying a beer are two things that just go together. It will hurt the courses business and make it difficult to run a cafe without beer being served.

Beer is a great thirst quencher. Better than water at times.

It served 3.2 beer in the past and there should not be any reason that practice should not continue.

That's a very good question! There is a school nearby that is within 600 ft of typical pedestrian walking pattern. The golf course was built long before the school but there is no law on the state level that allows us to be "grandfathered" in. We must be granted a proximity variance on the state level by the DABC. We hold one in West Jordan City, along with a Local Consent and our city alcohol license. We must have a public hearing on March 27th at 10:30 am at Mountain View Golf Course. 2400 w. Gardner Lane. (8660 S.) . The purpose of the hearing is to provide information to the DABC commission about our eligibility to be granted a proximity variance and our state license.

Beer is sold at a golf course for a good reason. It's for those who need a reason for their poor play.

West Jordan has granted me my City Beer license and Local Consent and also a Proximity Variance for the school nearby. I must undergo public hearing to be issued a proximity variance on the state level by the DABC commission.
