The importance of recognising the men and women behind the scenes who effortlessly ensure coordination, planning, and execution are seamless; in addition to avoiding protocol blunders, cannot be overemphasised. It is on this note that i sign this petition as a protocol officer.
Protocol deserves a dedicated international day in recognizion of its value in setting the framework for smooth communication, building bridges and trust to serve the universal human aspiration toward cooperation and peace.
As the Vice President of the Organization of International Protocol Professionals and a protocol professional who witnessed the conception (and evolution) of the idea of designating 11 May as World Protocol Day, I highly support the petition for UN recognition, which would not only be well deserved, but would also be an act serving our common good.
As an Etiquette and Protocol trainer I support this proposal and have a World Protocol Day to bring awareness to the importance of protocol and civility in all walks of life.
