I think that EH council is trying to kill Hertford off altogether. They just don't seem to understand that Hertford is disappearing and to move Waitrose would be a disaster for Hertford.

Don't need another store we have a new Asda in Ware leave Great Amwell alone it's green belt land with roads that just about manage to cope as it is.

Great Amwell is an oasis between Hertford, Ware and Hoddesdon. Van Hages were given a special dispensation many years ago to develop their business on Green Belt land, and have profited well from it. Further development must be stopped.

Van Hage is on an already busy and fast road. Some parts of the pedestrian walk way on opposite side going towards amwell rounderbout is very narrow and dangerous. I don't want to see lorries and more traffic going into that site making our village feel more like a town. Also taking up green belt is unforgivable . There are better sites to put a supermarket,not here please.

Hertford needs more retail and I have lived in Hertford all my life and was born at the country Hospital and Waitrose to leave the town would make a huge hole to be filled and if Waitrose leave what would become of the space just take a look at maidenhead Street prime example

I believed that planning guidance was no more out of town store development and planning applications should NOT impact on town centre retail. at least 3 town centres would be affected by this development. Officers advice was to reject it.

Very odd decision when everyone was against it for all sorts of reasons, traffic, green issues, Hertford town centre etc. still don't know how it got through.

We need to plan around what local people need, not what is in the interests of big companies. Really disappointed in Waitrose - I would have expected them to be more in tune with supporting local towns and citizens.
