I must admit that I have not read the planning issues or history but having dealt with many planners in my role as a senior construction manager I can only sympithise with your plight and wish your every success in dealing with your application - we have been coming to the Sunset for a good few years and hope that common sence prevails P.S. How many planners go surfing or use the Sunset??

I've holidayed in Cornwall for over 20 years and would miss the sunset surf after a day in the beach enjoying the view and there little treats wouldn't be the same if it closed down

As a visitor to Gwithian since 1971 I would have to say that Sunset Surf and it's webcam play a major role in attracting tourists to the area.

We have used this lovely establishment on many occasions whilst walking the coastal paths. A friendly welcoming stop on a beautiful part of the Cornish Coast. I would like to support the planning application.

Important to get this sorted, with good will from all sides, as Sunset Surf is not only a tremendous resource at the beach but a great asset for Cornish tourism through its web site.

We are not residents but were taken to this wonderful cafe in May when visiting friends in Gwithian. 4 adults and 4 dogs had a fabulous breakfast. Have visited twice since May and intend to visit again when we are in Gwithian in October. We regularly visit the webcam site just to see what the weather is doing and remind ourselves of the view and why we have come to love this part of Cornwall. I just hope that the planning committee in Cornwall make the right decision and allow this planning application. What a shame if this cafe were to close, not only for the locals and visitors but also for the people who work there. Come on planners wake up and see what this cafe is doing for the area. Shame on you all if you make the wrong decision and add to the job centre queue.

Sunset Surf has been serving locals and tourists alike for years. When I was a local I enjoyed the cafe. Now I've moved away I check the webcams weekly to see whether I should bring myself and my wallet back to Cornwall for the weekend. This is exactly the sort of enterprise councils should be supporting

I cannot believe that the council have not approved this as the work that has been done is excellant and this cafe is a great place for locals and tourists and a great asset to the area

I cannot believe how CC can be so stupid not to grant the permission ! I have surfed the area for over 30yrs and the cafe has been around for a very long time. This is vital to the local community providing a great service to locals and visitors. A lot of the younger visitors come to Cornwall to try out surfing and spend at least 2 weeks a year here. The money that this type of business brings in is massive for the county. It better to grant it, remember 30 unemployed people will cost you more in benefits when they claim job seekers. Pull your fingers out your a***s and do the right thing. Good luck Sunset.......

I live in kent and always look forward to my trips to Gwithian, it would not be the same without sunset surf. Great cafe and always friendly staff. They need to stay.

Supporting local businesses should be one of the key aims of Cornwall County Council rather than closing them down through narrow mindedness and blind ignorance. Let's hope they realise they're here to improve the lives of those who live in this county, by setting aside their own deluded self worth and grant permission for an excellent refurbishment, and destination cafe.

I,m (unfortunally) not Cornish, but my wife and I come each year 2-3times from Holland to Gwithian and I can,t think about Gwithian without Sunset.
The people of the shop are always helping out to get/keep you on the water and the pre-mid-after sessions drinks and food is great.
It would be a serious loss for the place if they have to shut down this nice little business so goverment please support them and help them out where you can.
