Although I have not visited the Gwithian area yet, it is my intention to do so and to use the eating and surfing facilities at Sunset Surf. Sunset Surf has been mentioned and recommended by a number of my friends who are all keen surfers. I am, like so many, an avid fan of the Sunset Surf webcam, which does so much to promote the tourist trade in the area. It is clear that the facility should remain open for locals and visitors alike and I support the planning application. The business does much to support employment and other supplier businesses in the area and for this reason alone, an affordable solution must be found. Thank you Brian Heasman

Sunset Surf, and it's new look, enhances the area it sits in linking the roughness of the car park to the quirkiness of the surrounding properties and the more modern replacements that are sprouting up here and there. As a thriving café, surf school and shop it serves an important role, attracting huge numbers of visitors who ultimately make a huge amount of income for the council in the form of parking fees. The business is run in a highly professional way with the friendliest of staff and delicious food and an array of beverages employing I believe around 30 local young people in the summer. The new terraces are an asset, affording customers clear stunning views, the red wood cladding gives a stylish exterior appearance and the indoor decor is fresh and contemporary. The lower building which houses changing rooms, toilets, surf boards and wetsuits is discreet and has no detrimental effect on the appearance of the building as a whole, indeed it blends in invisibly. Great care was obviously taken in the choice of materials used, interior and exterior furniture and the exquisite glass balcony balustrades. I can see no reason whatsoever for planning permission not to be granted without any question to Sunset Surf and urge you to make the right decision.

My fav place from Falmouth to come and surf, eat, chat and chill. Amazing webcam, you have my support as well as my friends on the South Coast.

Sunset Surf is a great asset to this area, can't believe the powers that be would turn it down.

Fantastic place and thriving business, I can't see any reason why the Cornwall Council would want to jeopardise this. With the job losses that would happen and also suppliers etc. losing trade it doesn't make sense. I, like many others only found this place initially through the webcam but will be sure to visit when we come to Cornwall in October. good luck with the RPA.

We have been using this café for many years now and it has always served good quality food along with many gluten free options. The café sits well within its setting and it would be a sad loss to both locals like ourselves and the tourists who visit in the summer. It's about time we looked after the local businesses who struggle enough as it is, especially with the introduction of the parking charges and loss of access to the dog friendly beach.

How come this gets rejected and horrors like Hayle Asda or the Penzance Sainsbury sign breeze through? People say Cornwall Council are totally corrupt but I like to think that's not true. Good luck with the application: second time lucky.

More effort on the part of local authorities should be put towards the leisure and recreation of the public. Surfing, a growing sport should be supported nationally it is another way of promoting health and fitness and decreasing poor health. Look at the way cycling has regenerated interest since the tour. Come on councils lets see you sensibly support this business who are actively supporting our surfers and bringing in much needed revenue to the area too.

I feel very strongly that this planning application should succeed and be granted...The business provides a valuable service to locals and visitors alike..The building has been sympathetically repaired and is in keeping with other buildings in the area... The business blends harmoniously with the environment and locality.
