I tot ally am in favour of the city adding 12 courts. Great way to get kids active and it is a great sport for them.

Niagara Rapids has been a huge part of my children's life and still is. My daughter who is playing volleyball at the college level learned to play through the Niagara Rapids and competed at indorr as well as the beach circuit. Many, many hours were spent on the beach learning and having fun. My children were able to have safe fun, learn the sport, get fit and make new friends. Playing on the beach has been a very valuable part of our lives and my hope is that it goes on so other families and kids can benefit!!

Our children and grandchildren need activities that keep them healthy and out of trouble. Don't take this away from them.

I would like to add that we need somewhere else for our children to use .
My daughter plays beach volleyball and a local facility would be wonderful . Why should we have to travel to Burlington to practice when we have somewhere we could use in our area. The people arguing against are clearly missing the point . Just because you bought a house on a street where a public beach exists doesn't mean you own the beach . The sunsets will still be visible for their viewing pleasure , because the sun sets in the sky not in the sand where I would like my children to play beach volleyball.

Niagara produces many great Volleyball players but due to the lack of facilities to train beach at a high level many leave and travel to Burlington or beyond to train. Sports have been proven to help youth stay focused and out of trouble. I am all for any facility that would promote healthy and active youth locally.

There are no where near enough athletic outlets, nor enough recreational activities for kids to get involved with in the City of St. Catharines. Recreational sports provide an outlet for youth and keep them occupied and help steer them away from alcohol and drug use. Further, there is a huge interest from the adult population to remain involved wtih rec sports long into their middle and later adulthood. And they serve as role models for the younger generations. To proceed with these posts to allow for nets to be hung on occaision is to support healthy development and exercise for an entire city.

Beach volleyball is a great way to get people out & active in the spring & summer! The brings family and friends together. It doesn't cost the taxpayer anything. It's a no-brainer! I vote Yes.

Personally, I play this amazing sport and there should be no reason this shouldn't happen because rapids is paying for this and it is an amazing opportunity to get more people involved in this wonderful sport and bring more people together
