There is NO need to transfer the 6th graders to the high school building. 10 & 11 year old children do not need to be exposed to all that happens in high school.

No because they r kids and don't need to be with the high school!!! 7th grade ok fine.....not the 6 th too! I don't want my son being bullied by older kids my son is in 4th now they need to be kids as long as they can

RESEARCH SHOWS: Emotionally, psychologically, the 6th graders DO NOT need to be mixed with high schoolers. There is PLENTY of room in the elementary/middle school to keep the 6th graders where they are, along with moving the 7th and 8th grade back.

This is so wrong in so many ways! I am a supporter of Summerfield School and can't believe what is happening. Where is the logic???? And don't tell me that the teachers and principals know EXACTLY what goes on ALL THE TIME. What a shame....sweeping things under the rug. Come on Summerfield, make yourself a school that you can be proud of!

Way too young to mingle with 18 year old adult students. There is no way that the school can guarantee the safety of the children.

I feel like 6th grade is to young to be in with high school students even 7th grade students are to young they have enough pressure on them to deal with what they are dealing with being in Middle School

Seriously 6th graders with High School kids, what are you thinking. I grew up in Petersburg and attended elementary, middle and high school. Let them be! Big kids today are not the nicest!!

I believe that kids that young shouldnt be in high school. They will be exposed to alot of things, kids of an older age will be doing differently. The attitudes of lids older can be damaging to children of this age. There is to much drama and bullying and stereotypes in children in high school. I feel exposing children to those types of environments will dramatically alter their behavior and could ulimately do more harm then good

This is a bad choice. I do not agree. Please keep the younger kids separated.

This is an awful idea. I graduated in 2010 and even then I can tell you with certainty it is a terrible idea to subject 6th graders to that sort of mature environment.

This move would not be in the best interest of our 6th graders..

My oldest daughter is in 1st grade this year and my youngest in Preschool, both at Summerfield. I do not agree with moving 6th grade to the high school. It's bad enough as it is that the principal splits her time between both schools. So I especially don't like that there isn't even a full time principal at either school! Sounds like a BAD idea!

Moving the 6th grade is just wrong. My child is in 7th grade and I hate the fact he has to be around the influence of much older children. We were told the 7th and 8th grades would be seperate from the high schoolers but that never happened. Too much of an age difference to be integrated. I'm opposed completely!
